In January 2011, Joe Moglia was named President and Head Coach of the UFL's Omaha Nighthawks. This seemed like an unusual transition, since Moglia has been a successful executive in the financial industry for over 20 years. Why would someone leave the comforts of a successful financial powerhouse to take over a newly formed start-up franchise such as the Nighthawks? The answer is simple - you haven't met Joe Moglia. Changes are something that Moglia has been able to conquer throughout his life. He started his career as a football coach (at both the high school and collegiate level). After 16 years in football, Moglia made the move to the world of finance. He became a success, and was able to transform a small, online brokerage firm in Omaha into one of the largest in the world. Moglia is currently the Chairman of the Board for TD Ameritrade as well as the Nighthawk's President and Head Coach. The challenges of moving from different teams, companies and industries are something Moglia has been able to master. Today he will share his story on how he got to where he is, and some of the challenges and opportunities of running a newly formed franchise such as the Omaha Nighthawks.
