Lincoln-based Boutique Window is an online platform that makes it easy for local retail stores to showcase and share their merchandise on the web. The goal is to help retailers drive foot traffic to their stores by making it easy for them to keep their merchandise on the minds of new and existing shoppers.
The concept was developed out the “selfish desires” of co-founders Ella Wirtz and Courtney Rodgers, who wanted to find a better way to shop local. Founded in 2012, Boutique Window now functions as an all-in-one marketing solution that employs six full-time employers and two interns.
One Million Cups is a weekly entrepreneurial event that occurs in cities across the United States each Wednesday morning. At the event, entrepreneurs and locals gather to listen to a 6-minute presentation given by a local startup. The rest of the hour-long event is left open for a Q&A with the presenter as well as time to encourage and mentor each other in the hopes of building a stronger startup community.
The Omaha/Lincoln chapter hosts the event at Mammel Hall on the University of Nebraska at Omaha campus each week, with the exception of the last Wednesday of the month when the event is hosted in Lincoln at Nebraska Global.
